Intro to Home Insurance
Understanding your home insurance coverage can help you avoid surprises down the road.
We’re committed to making sure you know what you’re covered for, and in helping you get back to normal as quickly as possible if you have a claim. Homeowners insurance can give you coverage for many different risks you face as a homeowner, and what’s protected varies depending on the policy you choose. Home insurance from COUNTRY Financial® provides coverage for your: house, other structures (like garages and storage sheds), belongings and liability risks.
Home and Belongings
You can choose from three levels of coverage for your home, other structures and belongings:
Coverage for specific risks listed in your policy.
Specific coverages will be listed in your policy for things like:
- Fire or lightning
- Theft or vandalism
- Wind or hail
- Freezing of plumbing
Our best coverage
In addition to what the basic policy includes, you'll also have protection for accidents like:
- Countertop burns
- Paint spillage
- Power surge damage to appliances
Basic coverage on your belongings and Premier Coverage on your home.
You can also choose from the following claim settlement types:
Actual Cash Value
Coverage for your home and belongings at the cost to repair or replace the damaged property, minus depreciation.
Coverage for the cost to repair or replace your home and belongings. So if your home is destroyed by a covered loss, we'll pay to rebuild it.
Since predicting home rebuilding costs isn’t an exact science, COUNTRY Financial offers extra replacement cost coverage on homes that qualify:
- Extended Replacement Cost: Extra coverage to rebuild your home, up to 120% of the limits on your policy.
- Additional Replacement Cost: Extra coverage to rebuild your home, regardless of the limits on your policy (with a max of 125% in AL, GA and TN). COUNTRY Financial is one of the few companies to offer this additional coverage.
Liability and Medical
Liability coverage is automatically included with your home insurance and helps protect you if someone is injured on your property, you're responsible for damages to someone else's property, or you're sued for those injuries or damages and have legal defense costs.
More about Liability
- Choose liability limits up to $1 million
- Add optional liability coverages (for in-home businesses, recreational motor vehicles, watercraft, rental dwellings, etc.) for an additional cost
- Add a personal umbrella liability insurance policy if you need more than $1 million in coverage1
Medical payments coverage can provide coverage for others’ medical costs if they’re injured on your property. You can choose up to $25,000 in coverage.

The following risks aren't included with the base home insurance policy, but you can buy extra coverage for:
- Identify theft
- Earthquake damage
- Seasonal dwellings
