You can also choose from two types of coverage on your home and personal property.

Actual Cash Value

Coverage for your home and belongings at the cost to repair or replace the damaged property, minus depreciation.

Replacement Cost

Coverage for the cost to repair or replace your home and belongings.

Since predicting rebuilding costs isn't an exact science, COUNTRY Financial offers extra coverage on homes that qualify:

Extended Replacement Cost

Extra coverage to rebuild your home, up to 120% of the limits on your policy

Additional Replacement Cost

Extra coverage to rebuild your home, regardless of the limits on your policy (with a max of 125% in AL, GA and TN). COUNTRY Financial is one of the few companies to offer this additional coverage.

Liability & Medical Coverage

Liability coverage is important to your farming operation.

It helps protect you if:
  • Someone is injured on your property
  • You’re responsible for damages to someone else’s property
  • Your animals graze on someone else’s property
  • Your farm operation causes pollution (coverage is limited), including overspray or drift
  • You’re sued for injuries or damages and have legal defense costs
You can:
  • Choose liability limits up to $1 million
  • Add optional liability coverages (for custom farming, in-home businesses, roadside stands, recreational motor vehicles, watercraft, rental dwellings, etc.) for an additional cost
  • Add a personal umbrella liability insurance policy if you need more than $1 million in coverage
  • Add separate liability policies for workers comp2, pollution liability2 or biological and chemical terrorism liability

Medical payments coverage can provide coverage for others’ medical costs if they’re injured on your property. You can choose up to $25,000 in coverage.

Other Options

For the Farm

Your farm or ranch  may need additional protection, so you have a variety of farm insurance coverage choices on top of the standard farm policy.

Common add-ons include:

AgriPlus®

An AgriPlus policy gives you our premier coverage and increased coverage limits for things like newly acquired mobile farm machinery, personal property and a package of special coverages.

Cargo

For property (like livestock) being loaded, unloaded or transported.

Peak season

Extra coverage for things like hay and grain at certain times of the year.

Farm personal property for resale

For property you have for sale while it’s still at your farm.

Machine rental

For the cost to rent or lease a piece of machinery to replace a machine that’s unusable because of a claim.

Scheduled farm personal property

Milk contamination

For the loss of milk due to contamination or leakage.1

Animal collision

For livestock killed by a motor vehicle.

Livestock mortality

Insures against death from natural causes and intentional destruction (separate policy required).2

Hog loss of value

For the risk that your hogs will decrease in value.

Nursery Plus

Special coverage package just for nurseries.

For the Home

We also offer some additional choices specific to the coverage for your home and personal belongings. Coverage options vary by state.

Coverage for high value items

Some of your possessions are only insured up to specific limits.  Some examples:

  • Jewelry, watches and furs - $2500
  • Silverware, goldware and pewterware - $2500
  • Money and other currency - $200
  • Firearms - $2500
  • Watercraft (like boats, jet skis and trailers) - $1500
  • Recreational motor vehicles (like ATVs, 4-wheelers and campers) - $500

If you have high value items you have questions about, talk to your financial representative about insuring them separately. It’s usually very affordable, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing you’re protected.

Coverage for additional risks

The following risks aren’t included with the base farm insurance policy coverages, but you can buy extra coverage for:

  • Identity theft
  • Earthquake damage
  • Seasonal dwellings
  • Sump pump failure and/or back-up of sewer or drain
  • Mine subsidence (for damage caused by underground mine collapse)1
  • Loss assessments from a homeowners association
Flood insurance

Farm insurance doesn’t provide coverage for most flood damage, and flood insurance is generally only available through the National Flood Insurance Program. We can help you get flood coverage through the federal program if your home qualifies.2
