Living Our Values
Creating a diverse and inclusive culture is a journey.
We value the talent, skills and perspectives of our employees and we work to fully integrate D&I into our everyday practices. Through continuous learning, training and talent development, we invest in our people to provide them support for success. Two examples of our efforts are Women In Networking and Military Support.
Women in Networking
Through Women in Networking, female representatives come together to share ideas and broaden their knowledge and business.
We're proud of the men and women who have served and are serving our nation. Our Military Support Group provides moral and physical support for employees and their families in preparation for, during and upon return from active duty.
For current Guard/Reservists, they help employees and representatives navigate the support COUNTRY provides for you and your family.
Our Shared Vision

Kurt Bock, CEO
“Nothing is more powerful than a group of people from varying backgrounds and experiences working together to develop a solution. That’s the kind of inclusive workplace we’re striving to build. We work every day to support our representatives to meet the diverse needs of their customers and communities.”
Fanette Singer, Senior Vice President for Marketing
"Diversity means we welcome the opportunity to expand our horizons and become the best we can be. For me, understanding people, respecting their points of view and finding ways to help support what is important to them is my mission. This brings people of varying backgrounds and experiences together in a welcoming environment – this is inclusion."
Mike Fisher, Agency Vice President Community Business Development
"Diversity is the blending of people with unique cultural perspectives, life and work experiences and talents to effectively achieve common goals as a team. The operative term in that definition is “blending”. Everyone’s contribution is welcome and earnestly considered. Our people are truly our greatest asset, and it’s this type of environment that will allow us to continue to attract the best and the brightest to join our team and ensure that the next 90 years of our existence will yield even greater results for our clients and our business success."
Rachael Sklamberg, Senior Vice President Corporate Human Resources
"Diversity is the range of human differences in the workforce with a focus on both the similarities and differences. Inclusion is involvement and empowerment where the inherent worth and dignity of the entire workforce is recognized. A diverse and inclusive organization represents value, support and respect for all individuals with an environment that is aligned to provide the right support. The D&I goals should align with the organization outcomes and should provide guiding principles for leaders when making decisions. "
Gabriel Carrillo, Senior Vice President for Property Casualty Operations
"As a workforce, D&I is critical to optimizing thinking, strategies and being relatable in our communities. From the standpoint of serving our customers, it is equally important, inasmuch as we can’t maximize that effort if we are not fully tuned in to our markets and bringing an equivalent level of diversity of thought to bear. Whether it is how various cultures and ethnicities view and embrace financial products, or as basic as language and communication preferences, we need to meet our customers where they are."
Steve Denault, Executive Vice President Enterprise Business Services
"Diversity drives innovation and ensures COUNTRY will align with our evolving customer base. It's embedded in our Values. Inclusion is absolutely necessary in order to have an engaged and collaborative workforce. People want to feel they belong. The more engaged they are and the deeper their roots are with COUNTRY, the more they can focus on doing the right things and add value to our customers."
Kelvin Schill, Senior Vice President of Financial Services Operations
“Seeing situations from others’ point of view is critical and is one of the basic concepts of diversity and inclusion . Our ability to appreciate differences among us and using those differences to call out blind spots and limited perspectives helps us better serve our customers and work more effectively as a team.”
We have a long history of supporting groups, empowering families to do their best, and strengthening the neighborhoods in which we live and work. A big focus lies in our philanthropic effort of supporting nonprofits that offer financial security education programs. We also partner with community leaders, academic institutions, professional and civic organizations to stay connected to our growing and diverse customer base.
