Forging a Future: How Rep Linda DeLano is Empowering Northern Colorado Women in Business

This Small Business Month, Northern Colorado is celebrating more than just the power of local entrepreneurship — it’s celebrating a movement. At the center of that movement is Rep Linda DeLano, whose vision and leadership sparked the creation of the Northern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, a thriving, women-led organization transforming how business is done in the region.

Founded in September 2024, the Chamber has already blossomed into a thriving network of over 60 members, unified by one mission: to empower, connect, and elevate women in business throughout the Northern Colorado region. But for DeLano, the seeds of this community were planted long before the ribbon was ever cut.

“Founding the NOCO Women’s Chamber of Commerce has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life,” said DeLano. “Over a year ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with the realization that our community needed a space focused on women — a place where women could connect, support each other, and thrive.”

What began as a middle-of-the-night epiphany quickly became a nine-month labor of love, fueled by DeLano’s relentless dedication and a passionate group of women who believed in the vision. Since its launch, the Chamber has grown not only in numbers but in influence, forming subcommittees and partnerships that are actively shaping the future for women-led businesses in the region.

At the heart of this growth is a personal mission. DeLano, who recently celebrated 22 years with COUNTRY, has spent her career guiding women through life’s most significant transitions — from divorce to widowhood to entrepreneurship. A single mother herself, DeLano understands the delicate balancing act between family and ambition, and the value of a supportive community.

“My role with the NOCO Women’s Chamber of Commerce deeply connects to the important work I do as a COUNTRY Financial Advisor,” she explained. “Founding the Chamber felt like a natural extension of that mission, creating a larger platform to connect, support, and empower women at every stage of life.”

The Chamber’s mission goes beyond traditional networking. It’s a movement built on inclusion, mentorship, and advocacy. Its members include women launching businesses after raising children, single parents forging new paths, and retirees eager to stay engaged and give back.

Joe Kemp, Area Director for the Northwest Region, called DeLano’s work “the embodiment of enriching lives in the communities we serve.”

“Linda turned her passion and desire of wanting to help uplift the success of women entrepreneurs and business owners into action and a reality,” Kemp said. “Linda is not only an asset to our organization, but she is also an asset to those she touches in her community every day.”

With continued growth, unwavering purpose, and a focus on the future, the Northern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce is doing more than supporting small businesses — it’s rewriting the narrative for what women in business can achieve together.
