July is Vehicle Theft Prevention Month: COUNTRY Financial® Shares Tips

Bloomington, IL - According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, more than one million vehicles were stolen in 2023. July is National Vehicle Prevention Month, and COUNTRY Financial can be a resource for sharing ways drivers can protect their cars from being stolen and vandalized.

Andrew Zeglin, Manager, National Auto Product at COUNTRY Financial shares the steps drivers should take, including:

  • Park in well-lit and secure areas
  • Always lock your vehicle
  • Install anti-theft devices
  • Hide your valuables
  • Use Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etching

Zeglin also reminds drivers that if the worst does occur and your car is stolen or vandalized, your auto insurance coverage can help. “Typically, comprehensive coverage can cover the cost to repair your car, and personal effects coverage can provide reimbursement for things that are stolen from a vehicle, like your phone or laptop. Check with your insurance agent to make sure you have the right coverage to protect you from vehicle theft and vandalism.”
