McLean County Museum of History Events Will Highlight the History of COUNTRY Financial®

COUNTRY Financial and the McLean County Museum of History have partnered in 2025 to celebrate 100-year anniversary of COUNTRY. This fall, two special events will feature opportunities to learn about important milestones in the company’s history and view archived pieces.

100 Years of COUNTRY Financial: Making a Home in the Twin Cities, presented by Bill Kemp

McLean County Museum of History Librarian Bill Kemp will chronicle the details of the company’s decisions and actions to move its headquarters from Chicago, IL, to Bloomington-Normal, and the impact the move has had on the local community.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Museum’s second-floor courtroom, and will be livestreamed via YouTube. It is free to the public.

Lunch & Learn: Preserving and Celebrating 100 Years with COUNTRY Financial presented by Andy Bender

Andy Bender, Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for COUNTRY and the Illinois Farm Bureau, will present a program featuring important milestones in the 100 year history of COUNTRY, and show items from the Illinois Farm Bureau archives at noon, Central Daylight Time on Thursday, October 9th at the museum. Bender will also share a sneak peek of items that will be preserved in a time capsule later in 2025 to commemorate the anniversary. This event is free to the public and will be available to watch on YouTube

The museum  is also displaying a 100th anniversary exhibit featuring the company’s history. COUNTRY is also sponsoring Free Tuesdays for visitors to the museum throughout the year.
