You’re officially a homeowner! What’s your next step? To throw a fabulous party, of course. It’s time to show off this place that you now call home. There’s one catch. Moving into a new home isn’t cheap. So how do you throw a banner party on a budget? Since we’re always looking for ways to help you stay on top of your finances, we put together some tips that can help.
Still have empty rooms? You don’t need to furnish the whole house to throw a great party. Regulate the celebration to the areas that are “guest” ready. Buy some “Under Construction” tape to hang over the “off-limits” areas to make it fun.
No dishes yet? Hit your closest thrift shop and get a variety on the cheap. Vintage is in, matching is out and affordable never goes out of style.
Limited food budget? Make it a small plate party. Have everyone bring an app to share. They’re easy to put together and even easier to eat! Need ideas? Check out this crowd pleaser from one of our resident foodies, Manager of Investments and Wealth Management, Jeff Clark.
Need entertainment? Grab a couple decks of cards and start a game of spoons, war, or slapjack and get competitive!
Want low cost drinks? Make a batch of easy party punch and buy bottled water in bulk. You can make the party BYOD from there.
