Chief Executive Officer
Kurt F. Bock of Bloomington, IL, has been chief executive officer of COUNTRY Financial® since February 1, 2012. In his capacity as CEO, he leads the more than 5,000 COUNTRY Financial employees and representatives in meeting the financial security needs of nearly 1,000,000 households.
He was the chief executive officer of the IAA Credit Union from 2003 to 2005, served as treasurer of COUNTRY and the Illinois Agricultural Association (IAA) from 2005 to 2008, and was the chief operating officer of Horizon Hobby until his selection as the COUNTRY CEO. Prior to joining IAA in 2003, Bock served in the United States Air Force for 28 years, attaining the rank of colonel. During his military career, he served in flying command positions and as a senior strategic planner for NATO in Brussels, Belgium.
Bock earned a bachelor’s degree of science from the United States Air Force Academy, a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University, and a doctorate of philosophy in business administration from Saint Louis University. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2004.
He serves on the Illinois State University Foundation Board and is the chairman of the Property Casualty Insurers (PCI) Association of America Board of Governors, the trade association representing over 40 percent of the property casualty industry. He also chairs the PCI Executive Committee and is a member of the PCI Political Action Committee. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Chicago.
In November 2015, he was appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance by the Director Federal Insurance Office, for a three-year term advising the Director on policy matters impacting the U.S. insurance industry. Bock has also testified before the Senate Finance Committee and presented before the National Association of Insurance Commissioners on regulatory issues and costs.
Kurt and his wife, Carol, are parents to Jonathan Bock and Rebecca Bock, both residing in Charlotte, N.C.
