kicking camp held in honor of athlete who lost life to leukemia
COUNTRY Financial Teams Up to Raise Cash for College Scholarships
High school football kickers, punters and long snappers will have the chance to advance their skills and improve their technique at the Fifth Annual Nate Ekhoff Kicking Camp in Parker.
The COUNTRY Financial sponsored camp celebrates the life of former Ponderosa kicker, Nate Ekhoff, who lost his life to leukemia when he was 18 years old. Ekhoff was a very dedicated kicker and graduated high school in May of 2011, just months after being diagnosed with the disease.
This year, Kicking Camp will be held Sat., July 15, at EchoPark Stadium at 11901 Newlin Gulch Blvd., Parker, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a tailgate and car show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Media are welcome to attend.
About the Nate Ekhoff Scholarship Fund
Nate’s boundless passion for kicking is what led his parents, Julie and Marshall Ekhoff, to create the Nate Ekhoff Kicking Camp and Scholarship Fund. As a COUNTRY Financial representative, Marshall is committed to helping people secure their financial present and future.
This is why the proceeds raised from the camp are used toward the Nate Ekhoff Scholarship Fund. The fund allows any high school senior that attends the Kicking Camp and then goes on to play any level of college football, to be eligible for a college scholarship. Since the program began in 2013, the Nate Ekhoff Scholarship Fund has provided $24,000 and has allowed Nate’s love for the game to live on.
