High school students invited to design artwork for farmers market bag
Peachtree Road Farmers Market to kick off season with design scholarship contest
High school students in metro Atlanta who have a passion for art and local food have a chance to showcase their creativity this spring. COUNTRY Financial and Peachtree Road Farmers Market are encouraging students to submit a design for the market’s 2017 reusable bag design contest.
The top design will earn the student a scholarship and their artwork will grace hundreds of reusable bags that will be given to shoppers during the market season.
The theme for the fifth annual reusable bag design contest is “Give, Grow and Be Green.” In order to be considered, designers must follow the theme and include the phrase, “2017 Peachtree Road Farmers Market – Celebrating 10 Years!” within their design. In addition, students are encouraged to include imagery familiar to the City of Atlanta and the marketplace such as fruits, vegetables, pastries and more.
In turn, three finalists will be given a financial start for their future. The winning artist will receive a $1,000 scholarship and the first and second runners up will each receive a $500 scholarship. In addition, the first place winner will earn the prestige of having their artwork printed on thousands of Peachtree Road Farmers Market reusable bags.
Contest winners will be announced at 9 a.m. on Sun., April 16, at the market’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.
