COUNTRY Financial and Minneapolis Farmers Market to host scholarship contest
High school students encouraged to design artwork for bag
Minneapolis-St. Paul high school students who have a passion for art and local foods have a chance to showcase their creativity this spring. COUNTRY Financial and Minneapolis Farmers Market are encouraging students to submit a design for the market’s fifth annual reusable bag design contest.
The theme for 2017 is “Give, Grow and Be Green.” In order to be considered, artists must follow the theme and include the phrase “2017 Minneapolis Farmers Market” within their design. In addition, students are encouraged to include imagery familiar to the city and marketplace such as fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and more.
In turn, three finalists will be given a financial start to their future. The winning artist will receive a $1,000 scholarship and the first and second runners-up will each receive a $500 scholarship. In addition, the first place winner will earn the prestige of having their artwork printed on thousands of reusable bags.
Contest winners will be announced Sat., May 20, at the Minneapolis Farmers Market.
