Crop adjusters have field day learning adjusting techniques at U of I
COUNTRY Financial teams up with National Crop Insurance Services
COUNTRY Financial crop scouts and supervisors are getting out in the fields this week to instruct the next generation of crop hail adjusters.
Starting Wednesday, Aug. 2, students will hit the classroom to learn about the latest adjusting practices and procedures. Then on Thursday, Aug. 3, they will take that knowledge to the rows—walking amongst six test plots of corn and soybeans.
The test plots will contain plants in different stages of development that showcase simulated damages. As part of their testing, the student adjusters will have to inspect the affected crops and determine if their damages can be traced to wind and/or hail damage, if there is root lodging or more impacting the plants.
WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
WHERE: University of Illinois Plots – East of Neil Street, Urbana-Champaign
