COUNTRY Financial moves catastrophe teams in place for Hurricane Irma

As Hurricane Irma moves closer to the U.S. coastline, COUNTRY Financial has moved its Loss Reporting Unit and First Contact Team into place to handle initial contacts with customers. The company’s catastrophe teams and claims representatives are also ready to handle auto, home and commercial claims. 

“While it’s still too early to know the exact path of Hurricane Irma, we are getting all of our teams and resources ready so we can immediately serve our customers if the hurricane hits Georgia,” said John Butkus, director of Property Claims for COUNTRY Financial.

Residents in Hurricane Irma’s path should start preparing now to protect their property and to possibly evacuate their community.  Residents should also:

  • Make an inventory of all their possessions.  Be sure to include receipts, descriptions and photos of their home’s contents.
  • Review insurance policies and discuss coverage options with their insurer.
  • Save the contact information for their insurer and financial representative in a easily accessible place.
