Bane named a vice president at COUNTRY Financial
Sheri Bane of Arrowsmith, Ill., has been named vice president of Commercial/Agribusiness Underwriting. In her new position, Bane will oversee all efforts related to underwriting, product development, training, loss control and field support for farm, crop and commercial lines of business.
Bane joined COUNTRY Financial in 1985 as a farm underwriter. She most recently served as director of Commercial/Agribusiness Underwriting. She also held various underwriting research and supervisory management positions and was a project manager for Internet Development and Marketing Design and Performance.
Bane received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics from the University of Illinois, Champaign, 1985, graduating with high honors. She furthered her insurance education and earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1996. Bane is a 2010 graduate of the two-year Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program.
She is active in the Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau, and currently serves as vice president and chair-elect of this national trade association. In 2009, she was named to the Department of Finance, Insurance and Law Advisory Board for the Illinois State University College of Business.
Locally, she serves as president of the YWCA McLean County Foundation Board. She is a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau and a former member/secretary of the Tri-Valley School District Board of Education.
