COUNTRY Continues Swift Response For Clients Impacted by June 5 Tornadoes

June 11, 2010

Dozens of COUNTRY Financial claims experts are continuing work to help clients begin the rebuilding process following the severe weather that hit Illinois on June 5.

Tom Tracey, COUNTRY Director of Field Claims estimates 332 storm-related claims have been submitted since June 5, most coming from Kankakee, Livingston, and Peoria Counties.

Current claims numbers in the hardest hit areas as of Wednesday:

  • Dwight - 35 claims, the majority from damage to homes.
  • Elmwood – 47 claims, the majority from downtown businesses.
  • St. Anne and surrounding area – 18 claims, the majority from damage to homes.
  • Streator – 85 claims, the majority from damage to homes.
  • Central Claims Office – 13

The remaining claims come from outside the hardest-hit areas. The above numbers do not reflect crop claims.

Many more claims are expected throughout the week. COUNTRY will provide additional numbers as they become available.

To report auto, property or crop damage, clients should contact COUNTRY as soon as possible at the 24-hour, toll-free 1-866-COUNTRY.

“You’ll always get a real person. As soon as you call, we start the recovery process immediately,” says Tracey.

When reporting damage, clients should be prepared to provide a description of all damage they can see. This helps claims representatives categorize the severity of reported claims.
