November 19, 2008

John Blackburn, COUNTRY Financial Chief Executive Officer, has been elected chairman for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI).

Blackburn has served as CEO of COUNTRY since August 2001. He has been a member of the PCI Board since 2002.

PCI develops sound public policy for the nation’s property/casualty insurance industry. The association further serves as an advocate for the industry and consumers.

“One of our primary goals will be to continue positioning PCI as a reliable source of information on property/casualty insurance issues for the industry and general public,” says Blackburn.

PCI serves as the national trade association for more than 1,000 member companies, including COUNTRY. PCI members write more than $192 billion in annual premium equal to 40.1 percent of the nation’s property/casualty insurance.

Blackburn serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lincoln College in Lincoln and is a member of the board of directors of Memorial Health Systems.
