When do internships begin and end?

Summer internships last approximately 12 weeks, from the end of May to early August.  Some internships have the potential to be extended depending on business need and work performance.

Who is eligible for an internship?

To be eligible for an internship, students must be pursuing a college degree for the duration of the internship or enrolled in a Master's program immediately following the internship.

What types of internships are offered?

We have internships throughout the organization from accounting to underwriting, and everything in between.  You can filter the positions on our job board by job field to narrow down your search.

Do internships require a specific major?

Some of our internships require a specific major (i.e. Accounting, Actuarial-Science), but many of our internships do not.

Where are internships offered?

The majority of internships are offered in our home office in Bloomington-Normal, IL.  We also offer internships in:

  • Alpharetta, GA
  • Middletown, CT
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Salem, OR
When is the best time to apply for an internship?

We prefer that candidates apply by the end of September for a summer internship, but we still review applications after this time.

What does the hiring process look like?

Create an account and submit an application. You'll be able to choose your preferred method of communication; but most correspondences will be sent via email.  Our recruiting team will review all applications. Upon review, you may be asked to participate in a series of interviews (phone, video, on your campus, or on-site at COUNTRY Financial). From here, we may conduct background and reference checks prior to a potential offer.

Is it possible for someone to apply to more than one internship?

The simple answer is yes. if you are selected for an interview, a recruiter will review your qualifications for the positions you are interested in and help you determine the best fit.

Are all interns provided a housing stipend with their internship?

No, only interns that must relocate are offered a housing stipend. The housing assistance program is discussed with eligible interns during the interview process.    

What will I be doing as an intern?

It depends upon the area. Interns get directly involved within their departments, working on important projects alongside our full-time employees.

Will there be training for the position?

We offer an orientation and general training to all new employees. Following orientation, training varies by department. Some departments have formal training while others offer on-the-job training. Regardless of the type of training the department offers, there will always be someone available to help you succeed.
