"With everything I’ve learned, from skills to personal finances, I feel more prepared for graduation than I ever have before."
Worried I wouldn’t find or get hired for an internship, I became aware of an opportunity at COUNTRY Financial. The day I stepped into my interview for my internship was the day I knew I didn’t want to work anywhere else.
I immediately felt like a team member on my first day. Everyone showed me their support and excitement for my time at COUNTRY. There would be days when my supervisor and mentor were both gone. One of those days, our manager looked at me and said, “You and I are the media relations team today.” Although much didn’t happen that day, those words gave me confidence in myself and the work that I was doing. I didn’t feel like “just an intern” at COUNTRY Financial.
During my time, not only did I learn many new skills, but I also listened to various leadership speakers and volunteered multiple times, which is something I haven’t been able to do through other internships. With everything I’ve learned, from skills to personal finances, I feel more prepared for graduation than I ever have before.
