Smart kids have good ideas. With the Money Smart Essay Contest those good ideas can pay off in the form of scholarship money.
For the last several years COUNTRY Financial has joined with organizations nationwide* for the national financial education effort Money Smart Week.
Despite the name, Money Smart Week (MSW) extends beyond a single span of days. Even though the focus of MSW programming is April 22-29, 2017, the engagement in financial literacy runs throughout the year.
Students from middle school through college can tackle a big question--and earn a big reward--with the Money Smart Essay Contest.
This year students will consider the question, “Do you think there is a connection between financial health and physical health?”
In the essay, students are also asked to also take the next step and share their thoughts of, “what can a city, state or national policymaker do to help promote financially healthier citizens?”
One of the premier financial education activities celebrated during the Week itself is the
presentation of thousands of dollars in scholarship money to students who handled the question best in 300 words or less.
To see if your region is hosting a Money Smart Essay Contest check out the Money Smart Week website. There, students, parents and teachers can review the rules and submission process for reach regional contest. Individual contest rules and deadlines may vary.
