COUNTRY Financial® Enhances Crop Insurance Coverages for Illinois Farmers; Encourages Them to Check on Coverages Before March 15 Deadline

Bloomington, IL - As the deadline to purchase federal crop insurance moves closer, COUNTRY Financial is providing enhanced coverages for Illinois farmers in addition to federal crop insurance. New features have been added to COUNTRY’s crop insurance coverages for 2024, including:

  • New replant endorsement amounts
  • Oats and Grain Sorghum available for replant endorsements
  • Green Snap Endorsement enhancements
  • Wind Endorsement enhancements
  • Extra Harvest Expense (EHE) Endorsement enhancements
  • GrainGuard Coverage Changes

Illinois farmers are encouraged to meet with a COUNTRY Financial Crop Specialist or a Farm Certified Representative to discuss coverage needs for 2024, changes to the federal crop insurance program as well as additional coverages they may need.

“Now is a great time to connect with your COUNTRY Financial Insurance Agent to discuss your farm and crop insurance needs. Discuss any changes you have made to your farming operation, including the purchase or sale of new equipment, updating your farm personal property inventory, plans for growing your farm, and your crop insurance coverages,” says Douglas Yoder, Crop Agency Manager at COUNTRY Financial.

“There is no denying Illinois farmers and landowners are more interested in Wind, Green Snap, and Extra Harvest Expense coverages given some of the significant storm and wind events we’ve experienced in recent years,” said Yoder. “The enhancements COUNTRY Financial is offering this year are a direct reflection of listening to our customers, being responsive, and offering tools they are seeking and need.”

In addition, Yoder recommends farm owners research the 2024 Farm Bill Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) decision, which also has a March 15 deadline, at your local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office.  Yoder says, “both ARC and PLC have significant changes in the triggers and guarantees they offer for the 2024 crop year.”  More information can be found from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

COUNTRY Financial has more than 160 crop specialists and 250 COUNTRY Farm Certified Insurance Agents in Illinois who have undergone extensive training on the proper protections and legacy planning for farmers.
