  3. What is a deductible?
  4. When I rent a car, should I purchase the damage waiver?

  6. Am I covered, if I take my vehicle into Mexico or Canada?

  1. Where do I find my NAIC number when I renew my license plate tags?

You will see COUNTRY Preferred Insurance Company or COUNTRY Mutual Insurance Company or COUNTRY Casualty Insurance Company on your auto insurance card.  The number that follows the company name is your NAIC number.

  2. How can I get an insurance card or proof of insurance?

  3. What is a deductible?

A deductible is the portion of a claim you agreed to pay when you purchased your insurance policy. The deductible could be required each time you have a claim on your auto policy.

  4. When I rent a car, should I purchase the damage waiver?

The answer varies with your specific situation. Keep in mind – Most auto rental companies require you to have comprehensive and collision coverage on your COUNTRY policy. If you don’t, the rental company will require you to purchase their damage waiver.

If you damage the rental car, the rental company might charge you for costs which have nothing to do with who was at fault. They might charge administrative fees to cover claim processing, and they might charge you for lost revenues while the vehicle is being repaired. Since these are not actual physical damages, your auto policy would not cover these charges.

  5. I upgraded my car stereo system beyond the basic equipment. If I have a claim, will it be covered?

It depends. You really need to talk to your financial representative to make sure you know what’s covered. Once you purchase stereo equipment beyond what is normally found in the vehicle, you might find you need to increase your coverage.

COUNTRY offers the Communication Device Endorsement. When purchasing this coverage, please discuss with your COUNTRY Financial representative the type of equipment you are installing and the cost. The Communication Endorsement can be purchased with limits ranging from $300 to $5,000.

  6. Am I covered, if I take my vehicle into Mexico or Canada?

There would be no coverage in Mexico on the COUNTRY auto policy.  However, you can contact your COUNTRY Financial Representative to see if you qualify for one of our brokered products.

The COUNTRY auto insurance policy does extend to Canada and any United States territory.
